COVID-19 The Reality

WE CARE

Below is a text received in respect of one of our tragic Covid 19 cases.

Our father’s funeral will take place on Friday 15th May at 9.30am.

We are allowed 10 people, but everyone was close to dad, so we couldn’t possibly choose who to invite.

Dad’s marvelous family desperately want to attend, but it would be a 6 to 10 hour round-trip for most, one of his grandsons even being abroad. We can’t even give them a cup of tea! So we are laying dad to rest, just 6 of us.

In a few months, when safe, we will have a celebration of his life for everyone. Dad will leave Sweets Funeral Directors at 8.30am on 15/5 and will travel past his home, The Maltings in Tewkesbury, so people can come out or look out of their windows to say goodbye. He will then be brought to Twyning  and will travel around the green, at approximately 8.40am, passing by the Village Inn.

If anyone would like to say their goodbye to him, we would love for you to use some of your exercise time to walk down to the green (social distancing) and watch him go by. He will then be taken up Hill End Road to his service.

Dad had many friends and it is sad that they can’t say goodbye properly, so we hope this helps. The short service will be live streamed, we will obtain more information about this shortly.

As you can imagine, being dads close family, we do not need to have a eulogy!

We were wondering, if people would like to quote what their friendship was with him, what he was like and what he meant to you, we would see if we could read them out during the service.

Thank you so much.

We see no slow down in our Covdi 19 work.
