Execution of Wills has Not Changed.

With the current pandemic amongst us, there has been some press relating to the execution of wills.

There has been no changes to how wills maybe executed.

The regulations are quite clear, the will must be signed by the testator in the presence of two witnesses, who must then witness the will in the presence of the testator.

There has been a recent case by a solicitor who ordered secretaries to retrospectively witness wills, and these were shown to be invalid, and the appropriate solicitor was struck off.

Instructing a professional will writer or indeed solicitor, should ensure that the will is executed correctly to avoid any subsequent problems after you have passed.
